Anyone who is passionate about eco-friendliness and baby care can start a cloth diaper brand. However, it is important to have a good understanding of the cloth diaper industry, including the different types of cloth diapers and their features, as well as the materials used in their production.

Things to Prepare

To start a cloth diaper brand, there are a few things you need to prepare:

Register a brand name trademark that is easily recognizable and relevant to the industry.
Design a logo for your brand and, if possible, register it as a graphic trademark.
Register a .com domain name for your brand, preferably using the brand name, for example greenmango.com. If the domain name is not available, you can add a relevant suffix, such as greenmangoclothdiaper.com.
If you have a design, prepare it for production. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.

Find a Reliable Cloth Diaper Manufacturer

To manufacture your cloth diapers, you need to find a reliable manufacturer who can produce high-quality cloth diapers according to your design requirements.

Inform the manufacturer of your design requirements and provide them with sketches or sample images.
Choose the material for your cloth diaper. The absorbent layer can be made from materials such as microfibers, bamboo viscose, bamboo charcoal, bamboo cotton, hemp cotton, and wool. The pocket lining can be made from materials such as suede cloth, bamboo terry, bamboo charcoal, and popular mesh nylon aka athletic wicking jersey (AWJ).
If you need diaper liners, choose the absorbent material and the locking edge process, thread, and color.

The factory will then provide you with a quotation based on the complexity of your design and the material requirements. If the quotation is acceptable, the factory will produce a cloth diaper sample for you. The sample is usually free, but you will be charged around $30 for shipping, which will be deducted from your final order.

Confirm the Sample

If the sample does not meet your design requirements, list the discrepancies and communicate them to the factory. You may request another sample if necessary. If you are satisfied with the sample, proceed to the next step.

Confirm Patterns and Colors

The diaper sample is usually produced using fabric remnants that are available at the factory. If you only need solid color diapers, then we will send you an electronic color chart of the fabric. If you have very strict color requirements, we will provide you with a Pantone color code.

If you need digital or position printing, you will need to create a sample pattern:

Printing Sample

Transfer your desired pattern onto the actual fabric to ensure that the pattern colors and sizes match the actual product as much as possible, avoiding color and brightness differences.

Required information for different print patterns

Digital printing: seamless bitmap or vector graphics and pattern size data.
position printing: bitmap or vector graphics and pattern size.

These patterns can be designed by yourself or purchased with commercial licenses on image libraries.

Confirm the printing sample

We will usually send you professional photos taken in the studio and a size comparison photo taken with the diaper sample. If everything is okay, proceed to the next step.

Confirm the color of the snap and tabs

We will provide you with our snap color chart, if you need elastic tabs, we will also provide you with the color card of elastic tabs.

After confirming the color of the accessories for each pattern, we can make the production order.

Order Confirmation

You need to confirm the content of the wash label, woven mark location, delivery location, shipping cost, delivery time and other information, and then we will send you the production schedule and collection request. After paying the deposit, we will produce your order for you.

Once the production is complete, the factory will provide product photos and packaging images, and you will pay the final payment before the factory ships the products to you.
